About me...

I study MA interior and spatial design at Chelsea College of art and Design. I graduated in 2008 from The University of Newcastle upon Tyne with a BA in Architecture Part 1. Since then I worked for a year in an architectural practice, which I enjoyed but it was there that I realised that architecture alone was not what I wanted to pursue for the rest of my career. Following this I took a year off to travel and decided to do the MA Interior course at Chelsea to discover more about who I am as a designer and what aspects of design are important to me. Alongside architecture I have always had a keen interest in textiles and fashion, I had a regular stall in Newcastle where I bought second hand clothes and reworked them into modern and unique designs. At Chelsea I want to further pursue my interests in fashion and architecture and rather than them running alongside each other, draw them together, looking at relationships with space and shelter around the body and what can be learned from a structural stance from the fashion world, both the fast changing pace of design and applying the use of light and delicate materials to ephemeral structures.
